Argument rough draft

I think that graffiti isn’t a form of art, but an act of vandalism. Graffiti isn’t art because , it’s connection to gang violence and vandalism.  For example I’ll give you both sides on why they think their right. Then give my thought on why I think that graffiti isn’t art, and the information to support my theory. Last I tell about the people who think that graffiti is art, and not vandalism. Then tell both sides have a point on their argument.

 I have many reasons why I think graffiti isn’t art but vandalism. One of the main reason it can promote racism and gangs in large cities or towns. Another reason why it isn’t art: For example a building with a beautiful façade, can be destroyed with the destructive chemicals inside the spray paint cans. Graffiti isn’t art because due to it look and the design of the lettering in the messaging. Some people who think graffiti is art, they must be the ones doing, and they will probably go to jail for their crime. Whenever I see graffiti around town or somewhere else, I look in disgust or anger by what people do to others people s property.  Those are on thoughts on why graffiti isn’t art.

There are many reasons why people think graffiti isn’t art, and why it should be stopped. For example most graffiti contains any type of message of gang warfare, and racism (FBI). In Los Angles, graffiti can be found on walls, buses, and on the subways too. (nagourney). Graffiti can be so bad, that cities had to spent millions of dollars to clean up the graffiti up from city walls, and other types of transportation (FBI).  The senior police officer in the LA police department Jack Richter; he something to say about graffiti. This is what he about people who do graffiti, “They will go to jail, sir,”(nagourney). Another reason why graffiti isn’t art is, that in Anaheim California they have a way to stop graffiti it’s called “Adopt-a-Block” to end graffiti in the city(FBI).  The reason that graffiti is done because to claim territory, express themselves, or threaten other rival gangs to stay away (FBI). People have made ways to stop graffiti, they have people in the criminal justice system to stop graffiti in the streets, and bring the individuals to justice (FBI). Those are some of the main reason why graffiti isn’t art, and  what are people are doing in cities or towns to put it to an end.

   

 Now I’ll give you the opposite side on why they think graffiti isn’t vandalism: but a form of art. One of first reasons people say it brings bright elaborate to a section of city that is very dull in color (Merits of Art). In Los Angles, they did a 40,586 square feet exzebit at the museum of Contemporary art to show graffiti a good thing (nagourney).  A graffito member called Walsh , he says that only 20% of graffiti is gang related(Goldman).  In the essay Merits of art, they say even though graffiti is a illegal, it still beauty in the eye of any beholder(Merits of Art). Niels Knator, an art dealer had something to say about graffiti to the new York Times: “People have to realize that art has to start somewhere. Cavemen drew on the walls”(nagourney). They said in an article, graffiti  will provide ant form of a artistic training that may lead to a productive art career in the near future( Merits of art). Some cities such as Chicago have beginning  to recognize that graffiti is not vandalism but  art to help foster a form of art of brighten some parts of the city (Goldman). This is what other side of the argument think about graffiti , and why they think it’s art.

  Now I’ll give you information from both sides may have a point to their argument. For Example, that 20% of graffiti is gang related, however that number must has gone up since the year 1997 (Goldmen). Even though that people know that graffiti is illegal, they still try to express themselves in some way they can do it.   Another point that the groups who thinks all graffiti is bad  is somewhat right and  a little bit wrong too.  One of the last point that one side has that graffiti does bring some colors for city neiborhoods that are dull in colors. Those are some of the points that both sides of the arguments have about graffiti that may be true.

 Now I’ve have given you my thoughts on why graffiti isn’t art, and the support that helps prove my theory.  You heard from both sides of table on what they say about graffiti art. Last, the pints were both sides may be right about what they are saying about graffiti if it’s good or bad. This why I think graffiti isn’t art and why the people who think it’s art are wrong.

genius puppetry In this video article, puppet makers Basil Jones and Adrian Kohler talk about their life like animal puppets. They talk about how their first puppet was small, but it was in a film. One of tells how the puppet is operated , and what parts of the puppet make it movie body parts. Another part they give brief information on what the puppet is composed of and made of too. In a few years the two of them are asked to work on the puppets of the stage production of the novel War horse. Later on they bring out on the stage one of the horses from the show called Joey in the show. As they taking about the puppet, puppeteers inside and the other one outside were controlling the motion of the horse movement inside.  During that time they show a picture of a factory where they make the horses in Cape Town South Africa, and it show the skeletons  for the horse in the background. During the time I watch this video, I found some parts to be very interesting. One of the first one was that I didn't how vast the puppets movement is taken to make so real. Another interesting part was of one of the puppeteers for the horse also make the sounds of trotting ,and the breathing too. The type of article is told to the audience as personal memoir about a career.

Can art change the world In this video article, French street artist named Jr speaks to a groups of people on how art can change the world. At the beginning he tells everyone how he  did grifdi art on the streets of Paris. he talks when riots engulfed Paris, he saw that his art was showed on TV. Some of the art was were some of the rioters making odd faces on a large canvases.  The pictures cause a inspiration by doing ones with Israels  and Palestines together. A few years later he went to country that were really poor and did on a lot of women, were they are important. When he journeyed to another country, he saw from a helicopter that his works were the top of people houses in the village he worked in.  When I watched this video, I found some of this information to be really interesting. One the first  reason was that I didn't know that some who started as a graffiti artist would become so famous . Another part that was interesting was that some of his canvases that he of Israels and palatines , he said that today that some of then are still their in the town he did them in. This person gives his story in a particular way of talking. The style is personal look back of something that was a pinnacle in their lifetime.

going mad for Dickens In this article, the writers tells how Victorian writer Charles Dickens is still very popular today. He tells how people are still fans of his works by doing movies, stage performances, and there is also a Dickens theme park in England. At the beginning too he tells about the set he goes sees for a new Dickens movies, and all the extras dressed in Victorian style clothing.  He tells at a point in the article that some of his well- known stories that he wrote is still very popular today. Another section of the article tells how a manor that Charles Dickens once lived in will be turned into a heritage museum.  During the middle of the article he gives a brief biography about Dickens life. I was reading this article, and I found some really fascinating information from the writer. One of the first facts  I learned was, Even though Dickens was always smart, he was forced to drop out of school at the age of 11 and work in a factory. A funny interesting story was when Dickens came to America , he always would be mobbed by admires.  There are many ways of writing that he does in this article. The first one is  he writes has if he got some of the information from books,  biography's, and  other articles. Another style of writing is he must of got this information at first hand.

George Luscas last flim In this article, the writer give information about George Lucas new film red tails. He tells how that about how this would be George Lucas last film. Another part was that his new movie is mostly about the famous Tuskegee airmen of World War Two. One time when George  Lucas was interview , Lucas said  "I'm retiring " he said. Later on in the article, he tells what he did for his film career in the 1960s and 70s. The writer said that was the time he was in college at U.S.C. Near the middle and end, it tells how Red tails will have all the action of Lucas old movies such as Star wars and Indiana Jones too. During my time I read this article, There were some parts that were really interesting to me. For example, I didn't know that George Lucas was directing this film; I thought it seen like Steven Spielberg would do something like this. Another part I thought was neat to read, was when a ten year old white boy said to Lucas was "I want to be like those guys" he told him . Their were many types of writing , for example some of the information was if he interviewed him himself.  Another stile of writing is that he got some of the old facts from other article and interviews.

Rough draft 2

On March 5^th, I returned to my old high school to observe the high school drama club rehearsal of their upcoming production of Beauty and the Beast. During my time there, I learned how a usual rehearsal is like. In this essay I’ll tell what happens during a rehearsal. For example, what happens onstage and backstage. The last part I’ll tell you about is what do the member’s do when they don’t have anything to do, and before rehearsal. Now I’ll tell you about my observations ,when I watched the drama club rehearsal.

  

 When I arrived at the rehearsal, some of the members were playing a game on the stage called knee tag. Even though I didn’t see a lot of it, the people playing must have been having a ball. The people who weren’t playing, were just talking about anything, or getting ready to sing that night. When the drama club director Mr.Brejcha got to the rehearsal he asked everyone to meet on the stage on news and upcoming information. After Mr. Brejcha gave new news to the member’s they returned back stage to practice their scales and get in tune. This is what I saw first when I obersved the drama before everything got more important.

During my time backstage, I saw the member’s do two sections from the show .  The first song they went through was the song belle; this is when belle goes through the village. As I listened to the song for the few times, they sounded better each time. Each  time the song ended, Mr. Brejcha told what was good , and  bad in the singing. After  the ensemble member’s went back onstage to work with the other drama club director. Even though during the second was practice, I could understand the emotions between the characters when they sang to each other. This is what I observed when I was backstage.

When I  returned to the auditorium, I saw the remaining member’s getting ready to go through the mob scene in act two.  The second Director was commanding the people to the beginning point of the scene and the song. Before she told them to remember their spot for the show. She told to act terrified of what they are showed by one of the villagers and what they are saying. Some of the first attempts   were weak was what the second director didn’t want them to do. Later on the members improved and acted more scared them they were before they began. I felt the emotions  of how they felt, and they had the feeling of the sinister scene.  At the first they were some people goofing around  , but the director got a little upset and told them to stop it.  In a couple minutes the chorography came in, the movement the beat of their feet was in tune. The last part they put everything together and  did the singing , and the lines in the script. I saw one of menbers drawing  pictures that look the stain glass windows in the prologue from the movies. If they are for the show, they going to be bigger and will be showed at the beginning of act 1. This is what I saw when member’s practiced a scene on the stag

   There are many reasons to be member of any high school drama club. The first main cause is committed to the production and  the directors. Another cause is helping other members who needed the extra with lines or singing. A small but still important is standing up for each other during practice. One I think that is at the top for drama club member’s is being on time for rehearsal . I think that they should listen to the directors whenever they tell them to work on for opening night.  Now one they always  do , but  sometimes it happens  is misbehaving. There are many different people that make up the drama club. For example most of them are in mixed chorus, concert choir, or band. They all still have some connection with the preforming arts outside drama club. This what drama club member must do ,and  what type of people are in drama club.

            Now I’ve given you the full detail of what I observed a drama club rehearsal. I told you about what happens onstage , back stage, and before practice starts. Another part was what does it to be a member of any drama club ,and who makes up the drama club. These were my observation when I watched a drama club rehearsal.
